Demons

Wretched souls wrought from hatred
Cruel and unforgiving
Forlorn and outcast
No ryhme or reason to them
Craving mayhem
Thirsting for destruction
Alive inside each of us
Held back by our fear and insecurity
Brought forth by anger and pain
We lose ourselves in their dark embrace
Only to reawaken to the coldness of the world

Very good! This piece has a succinct, accesible coherence about it. A good use of the free verse form. Especially, I think your choice of line breaks is quite effective. You separate out the distinct thoughts from each other nicely. Each line contains a distinct idea, yet the lines all flow together nicely. Especially, I like the first line and the last two. They are the keys to the poem, I think. But the description in between is vibrant, yet simple. You have a powerful insight in "held back by our fear and insecurity"
as to why our "Demons" usually don't get the best of us.

Thanks for sharing!

Hope to see you back at my site!
